What we collect
Nothing. Halo has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting service, and no server-side telemetry. No personal information, contact details, location, device identifiers, or usage events leave your device.
What stays on your device
Your sessions, streak, daily goal, subjects, theme (system/light/dark), language, ambient-sound choice, and timer settings are stored locally on your device using the system secure storage. Uninstalling the app removes all of this data.
Permissions we request
Notifications (iOS & Android): to alert you the moment a focus or break interval finishes, even when the app is in the background. You can decline or revoke this at any time in your device settings; the timer still works visually inside the app.
Live Activities (iOS): to display the running timer on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Granted implicitly by the system — no separate prompt.
Background app refresh (iOS): to keep the Live Activity countdown accurate while the app is backgrounded. Toggleable in iOS Settings.
No other permissions are requested. Halo never asks for your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendar, location, HealthKit, motion data, or Bluetooth.
Network usage
Halo works fully offline. The app does not connect to any third-party server. Ambient sound files are bundled with the app, not streamed.
Children
Halo is rated 4+ / Everyone and contains no age-restricted content. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
